One menu rule beats every guacamole code

Guacamole is included at no charge on every vegetarian entree at Chipotle. Not as a promotion, not for a limited time, and not with a code. It is a standing menu rule that applies at every location, every day, to the Veggie Bowl, Veggie Burrito, Sofritas Bowl and Sofritas Burrito along with their salad and taco versions.

On any order with meat the same guacamole is a $2.95 add on. That difference is the largest permanent saving available at Chipotle without an account, without a code and without a date on the calendar, and most people ordering chicken have never heard about it.

Sofritas counts as vegetarian for this rule. It is braised tofu, and it is what makes the rule interesting to people who are not vegetarian. A sofritas bowl at $9.00 with guacamole included undercuts a chicken bowl at $9.79 plus $2.95 for guac by $3.74.

Queso blanco, and why it works differently

Queso is never free by menu rule. It is a $2.95 side on every order regardless of protein, which makes it the more valuable birthday pick for anyone who orders vegetarian entrees anyway. Choosing guac as the birthday reward on a sofritas bowl spends the reward on something already included, which is the most common way people waste it.

Queso does appear in Freepotle drops, and the Rewards Exchange has listed it among the lower point redemptions. Both of those routes run through the account rather than through a code. Chips and queso blanco as a single item at $4.92 also beats buying chips at $2.25 and queso at $2.95 separately by $0.28, which is a small permanent saving on every visit.

The avocado codes and how they work

Chipotle has run penny or free guacamole promotions around National Avocado Day on 31 July, using codes in the AVO family with the year appended. AVO2025 ran the 2025 edition. The plain AVO form still gets reported working outside the event on some accounts, which is why it sits in the reported bucket on this site rather than being presented as current.

Every reported version has required an entree purchase, has been limited to one per order, and has run on digital orders only. A penny edition charges $0.01 for the guacamole rather than removing the line entirely, so the discount line on the receipt reads $2.94 rather than $2.95.

What free guac is worth across a year

Somebody eating at Chipotle twice a week orders around 104 entrees a year. Choosing sofritas or veggie over chicken on half of those, with guacamole on every one, returns roughly $194.48 against ordering chicken with paid guac. No code on this site comes close to that figure, and it requires nothing beyond a different tap on the ordering screen.

Add the birthday pick at $2.95 and twelve Freepotle drops and the account side of Chipotle becomes the main event rather than the fallback. The Rewards guide covers how the rest of it works, and the price page carries every figure used here.

Free Guac and Queso: questions people ask

How do you get free guacamole at Chipotle?

Order a Veggie Bowl, Veggie Burrito, Sofritas Bowl or Sofritas Burrito and guacamole is included at no charge. That is a standing menu rule rather than a promotion, so it needs no code and never expires. On any order with meat, guac is a $2.95 add on.
